Slipped disc

Just been diagnosed with a slipped disc S4 to something else I have forgotten what other number disc. Been referred to specialist had pain at least 5 years. I am on morphine and cocodomol for pain what can I expect doctor said I properly need surgery anyone out there can give me they're experience of a slipped disc or any advice on what to expect

I ve had slipped disc in the past but mine got better and I didn't need surgery but certainly experienced the pain. On a positive note I knew a lady likewise was in agony for years like yourself and she had surgery and is like a new person and out of pain so there is hope, try and be positive, a Physio Recommended to give you correct exercises for your condition. Try and move too as much as you can. Anyway I really hope your condition improves, please keep in touch and let us know how you get on regards mark

I have a slipped disc and other issues but at the moment physio and pain relief are my only options. What medication are you taking at present? X

I have fibromygala as well as arthritis I take peragablin, cocodomol, narproxin, duloxtine and oramorph (liquid morphin when pain bad in back)

Sounds like you are taking alot if medication? How is your pain? Does that mixture give you good relief. I'm just using butrans patches and not a day goes by without pain xx
