I suddenly developed unbearable pain in my right leg and I collapse on the floor for pain. I cannot but scream out. So far I have tried all availabe medication that I have for back pain but does not help. Any idea what this can be other then a slipped disk?

Hi Sammy - I'm afraid we can't diagnose on here as we're only patients, the same as you. I think you need to speak to your doctor or a medic about this. Are you in the UK? If so, you could ring the NHS helpline (is it 111?) and ask them for advice. Or if you can manage until tomorrow perhaps you could get an emergency same-day appointment with your own doctor?

Please don't take too much medication - you don't want to overdose.

Thank you. I followed your advice, saw a consultant and got an injection which will be followed by another one. So far it helped although I still am sometimes in quite some discomfort. Thank you for your conern

Glad you're getting somewhere with this anyway. Hope it continues to ease. If it was a steroid injection, I've had two of those in my shoulder. They do help (though the last one didn't help as much as the first in my case).

Hermes123. My guess would be you have a trapped sciatic nerve caused by your trapped nerve, sounds to me you need an MRI. scan, just to find out what is going on. If you have it so sever again get yourself to A&E. they will give you an injection to reduce the pain, whilst you get something sorted out with your Doctor. This is only through my experience so I guessing. Good luck and a Happy Christmas.

Hi Sammy

I am so sorry! I agree with Hermes beloe and the thought of Siatica. I also agree with seeing a physician asap; in the mean time sitting on a stability ball and leaning forward with bent knees can help releive pressure.

Hope you feel better soon!
