I have had sciatica for some time on and off. About 4 months ago had excruciating pain in my right hip and groin. Eventually diagnosed as tendinopathy in right hip. Very painful but not related to sciatica.
Still in pain and it takes 14 to 16 weeks to improve. Just wondered if anyone else has had this pain.

I have bad pain in hip and groin and have also waiting to be assessed by the physiotherapy dept. Could I ask what treatment you are receiving please? I hope you are having a good day.x
It is a really horried thing, be patient and do lots of exercises to try and stretch, you wil find excellent help on the internet, I am 9 weeks in wih bursitis as well and I have had steroid inj, but I do think its time which will be the greatest healer,i have used lots of ice packs and alsoheat packs. good luckx
Thanks I'm doing pilates and yoga 4 times a week. It hurts walking upstairs. Already got sciatica. I'd hoped to return to work but dr said no.. so I haven't. It is getting better but being patient. Been off 8 weeks already so just adjusting.
I have what the GP said was sciatica, I asked for a referral and was sent to a Spinal surgeon. After an MRI scan it was discovered that I have a cyst growing in to my spine which if not treated could have paralized my leg(s)!!. I've had a steroid injection which was amazing the pain went immediately but sadly it came back after about 3 months. I'm awaiting an appointment to have it surgically removed.
Perhaps to be on the safe side you should ask for a referral.
