Getting off butrans 10
Redalexander1962, I have been on Butrans 5 mcg for a couple of years. My research said going to a higher dose would not be beneficial so I have stayed at this dose without any problems. Are you trying to stop Butrans completely or are you going to try and stay at 5 mcg ?
I was on this for about a year before I started to have problems with the plaster. I just stopped mine and upped the tramadol for a few days with no problems. Good luck x
Hi.
I was on Butrans Patches as well.
These didn't seem to work so my hospital put me on Transtec patches.
They seem to have any impact on my pain.
I have had to come back down to the Butrans Patches with no adverse probs.
This is a dilemma as the Transtec Patches are difficult to take 2 per week.
Please let me know if I can help ??
Steve.
I had the same problem so had a chat with my GP. I changed over to Fentanyl patches. The dosage was a bit stronger and the patch related problems went away. I have since reduced the dose as I was sleeping all the time with the original one. The patches need to be changed every 3 days but that is not a problem for me.
I was on Butrans 5mg for about 9 months but became increasingly allergic to the adhesive unfortunately. I just went back to my original medication and had no real problems but of course everyone is an individual. Are you going to have no medication after coming off it or are they going to substitute it with something else as If you have a substitute so your body is not completely devoid of painkillers can help.x
