Hi Yogibe.

Yes he is right you have those issues.

No he is absolutely wrong as to what that means. You are still the same person inside and you are no less a person than anyone else able bodied or not.

As for what a woman would see in you. Frankly if she is the type of person that worries about how you look or the fact you are in a wheelchair rather than your personality, your strength of character, your sense of humour etc - well then in my opinion she's not a woman worth knowing any way. If all she wants to do is run the other way then let her get as far away as possible because clearly she would not be a very nice or caring person to know any way.

As for the being in pain all the time. That's a bit more difficult. We all have to find our own ways of coping and I guess we have to accept that there are going to be some days we won't cope, but instead just have to find a way of muddling through.

I'm sorry you are feeling so down at the moment but I hope you can find a way to get through this bad patch. I'm sure there is light on the other side of the tunnel somewhere. We just have to keep looking.

Please look after yourself and keep posting so we can try and help you as best we can.

Gentle healing hugs, Margaret.xxx

Dear Yogibe,

I cannot begin to imagine what it has been like to have gone through what you have experienced thus far.

The fact that you are still here and surviving speaks volumes for your inner strength.

Pain may not kill us but it does torture us every day.

For me, there are two sides to be dealt with as we live with chronic pain.

The physical side can be helped by painkillers etc. It is the mental side that is often unaddressed.

Each of us deals with it in our own way. As long as it is dealt with in a constructive way, then that is all that matters.

If you are feeling down then that is OK and perfectly normal.

If you have not done so already, please think about telling your Doctor how you feel. You do not have to suffer from pain and feeling down.

I hope that this post makes sense and is of help to you.

I also hope that you don't mind me copying the contact number below for Samaritans.
