Tired the morning after

I had to resort to a 30mg cocodamol last night and this morning I am so so tired that I am spending most of the day in bed .. Feel like I been on a night out. I find I am like this with most tablets .. They drain me

Hi Satsuma.

I too take cocodamol amongst other things and sometimes they make me very tired.

When it happens before I go to bed that's fine as that's the effect I want then anyway.But I find that when I take them in the morning when I have got up then they don't make me so dopey if I take them the same time as food.If I gave them on an empty stomach I am away with the fairies and can make me feel quite lousy.

Are you taking yours on an empty stomach?

Hi Crusee I know to take them on a full stomach. I think as i do not take many tablets anymore they affect me more maybe

There are different strengths of cocodamol.I take the 30/500 which are quite strong,but before that I used to have 8/500.

If you are taking the stronger one ask to go to the lower dose,but this may not be as effective for your pain relief- depends on what you need to control your pain.

I would also suggest speaking to your GP and see if they have something else they can offer you in terms of pain relief,that would not affect you so badly.

I also find sometimes my meds affect me more some days than others I have put it down to tiredness.

Thanks Crusee i have took the 8mg and they don't help yet the 30mg are too strong. I have a new GP now so I hope they are better than the ones I have been dealing with. I know I am constantly tired having insomnia it is draining somewhat

There surely must be a dose in between the 8 and the 30 or even if gp allows you to double up on the 8 tablet.Dont do that until you have spoken to the gp though in case that's not safe..

I have had a run of bad nights the last couple of weeks and sleep deprivation is not good.I have been near to killing folk a few times,so yes I agree with you its very draining and just can't function properly.
