Dr's have told me I have fybromyalgia, complicated migraines (yes that is what the neurologist called it) bursitis in my hip and mist recently trigeminal neuralgia. Does anyone else have all of this? I have a cousin that has MS. He seems ti believe I may have MS. Im just wondering what anyone else may think.

Fibromyalgia pains can be down to just an under treated or missed Thyroid (Low Thyroid) and/or Low or deficient vitamin B12 bloods.

Doctors are well known for missing patients with both vit B12 and /or Low thyroid.

*Complicated migrains, wondering if these could be 'Brain Fog' a symptom of both Thyroid and B12 Deficiency (Not saying it is)

Many get labled with MS when years later they find they have a B12 Deficiency.

Do you have any Blood results and their ranges to hand sarag-06 ?

In America and in Europe they have narrowed their thyroid range so you have more chance of being picked up for thyroid than here in UK .

I had Fibromyalgia type pains and brain fog, (similar to headaches, concentration levels lower than before,) also low in range (Grey Area) vitamin B12 (not acknowledged by my Doctor,) but once on optimal thyroid medication and supplementing with vitamin B12 everything went.

Hi bengal2013. (Justine)

You need to ask for a printout of your last thyroid bloods and any others done (and their ranges too) Then pop them up on Thyroid Uk, here on Health Unlocked for members to see if you have a thyroid and/or B12 deficency.

They will always ask for a printout. I always ask for my blood results now as do many others, Doctors and their receptionists are getting use to people asking for their own blood results, might be daunting the first time you ask, easier the second time.

There are grey areas in both B12Def and Low Thyroid(hypothyroidism) that Doctors do not acknowledge so we have to find it out ourselves.

Depression 'can' be down to low Free T3/4. (Free T3 and Free T4 are both measures of Thyroid hormone.

Many Hypothyroids, (often wrongly) get given depression pills.

If you have a thyroid problem and are given depression drugs it is not good.

Borderline Thyroid bloods, I would be questioning, especially if you have been told there is nothing wrong with you, yet you have Thyroid and/or B12 Deficiency symptoms presenting.

I would say your GP or a neurologist may be helpful.

Thank you for much needed info I will pluck up the courage to ask for my readings. Its ridiculous that we should be afraid to ask, as our health depends on it

Hi I too have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have trigeminal nerve pain and migraines along with joint and muscle pain/stiffness. What I find interesting about your post is that you have a cousin with MS as I also have a cousin with MS. I wonder if there is a link? It is also interesting what is said about hypothyroidism as I have been convinced for a long time that I have a problem in this area. I can tick almost all of the symptoms on the Thyroiduk check list and my TSH has been above 5 (Southern uk range max 10!) for nearly 2 years increasing slightly each test I have but GP nor any health professional is interested. I also have a weight problem even though I eat sensibly (exercise is difficult as I have chronic osteoarthritis). I think there is something in this link. Gentle hugs Joolz.x

My cousin and his wife both have MS and they are pushing me to get an MRI and or spinal tap done fir confirmation. They both have said for about a year now that I have same symptoms as they. And now being diagnosed with TN is just one more reason they are convinced. Im trying to wait out the week and see how much the Lyrica will help. This is my 3rd day on it and I feel no different as of yet. It was just my left side if my face and head. Today my entire right sude hurts as well. :-(

I have bursitus in both hips and it is very painful, it can cause a lot of other symptoms.

such as back problems, maybe it is lupus? Have a lot of blood work done.

Amongst other things I have fibromyalgia. There is a forum for Fibro in the communities on this site. Take a look. It is a horrible syndrome but knowing what is wrong is half the battle. Fibromyalgia uk gives you the chance to learn about the syndrome. If you like I can PM you more details. Many people take years to be diagnosed. MS attacks the muscle itself, in Fibro it just feels like it is, but no harm is done. A lot of us with Fibro also have thyroid problems too, and many others, too many to list. Hope that is of some help 🐸

Thank you so much for you advise. All this gets really frustrating and most ppl dies not understand what or how I feel.

I'll ask an administrator from the Fibro forum to PM you links etc that you will find useful. Apart from the pain, Fibro causes chronic fatigue, which is self explanatory and Fibro Fog which affects your memory, on a temporary basis, so don't worry. It is a more lighthearted forum as we attempt a bit of humour to cheer us up, but the members are very helpful when it comes to our syndrome. Look forward to meeting you on there 🐸
