Took me a long time to accept

That often with a chronic pain situation there may be no solution other than to settle for some improvement rather than a compete resolution of the issue. I have had chronic pain in my groin area for going on nine years and have settled for minor improvement and have basically given up on the idea of being pain free.

I feel exsactly the same. I've suffered severe pain in my pelvic area for years now.

A little bit of relief would help, but nothing seems to help, and I've no idea why either.

That sounds like a measured and sensible response. Sometimes tangling yourself in knots trying to find a cure or a complete pain relief solution makes things worse. I get to your place every now and then but often can't maintain it. But acceptance is good as long as there is a moderate striving to make it the best it can be.

Mindfulness gurus would probably say no need to judge it at all. I used to think all kinds of things now it's all about the moment if I can stop panicking and freaking out... 😜

This post has made me very emotional. I am working with a pain psychologist and 'acceptance' is a word I cannot bear to even speak. I am only 18mths down the pain journey and it is too early for me to even think of that as a possibility. I am constantly researching and talking to people online to try and find the 'cure' that everyone so craves. I have a 'control freak' personality and I hate the fact that I am relying on others for help and putting my health in their hands.

Thank you for your brave post. I hope that in the future I will not need to accept but you are so brave for finally being able to do this. I hope this acceptance brings you some peace and that in turn will help your pain.

There are two therapists worth seeing. They are an Alexander teacher and a McTimony chiropractor.

The McTimony chiropractor will deal with the muscle spasms which are causing pressure on spinal nerve roots. The Alexander Teacher will help you improve your muscle behavioural problems and in the long run reduce pain and discomfort.
