I went to the doctor and got a cortizone shot in the right hip of which the pain moved lower and I want to know how long this will last and what you can take. They were going to give me Loratabs but they are too strong so I have Ibprofens instead. I am having walking because my knees need replacing and I have cortizone shots in both knees every 3 months. I am usually very mobile and don't need a cane or walker. Can I ask for antibiotics?

I'm afraid antibiotics are only for infection not for pain. Go back to your GP and discuss different pain relief. I hope you knee replacement is soon.

What is the purpose of asking for anti-biotics?
Google for "cortisone injection ligament damage".
You need training in posture and muscle behaviour issues. Pain killers will mask pain. Anti-inflamatories will try and reduce inflamation. What are you doing that is causing the problem in the first place?
It is easy to damage knees by incorrect walking strategies. Improve the walking strategy and it may be possible that the damage may be able to repair itself. Have a look at things like Alexander Technique.
Hope this helps.
