What dose do people find helpful for nerve pain in terms of gabapentin? Thanks.

Gabapentin- dose
Hi I have tried different doses and am now on 400mg three times a day... I did go up to 600mg three times a day and although it was working pain wise I was very dizzy and disorientated and had a constant headache
yes ,but I bad side effect and was taken of them
Hi, I also tried these years ago but was so dizzy and fuzzy headed stopped quite quickly. I have agreed to try again so started last night on 300mg - I feel like I have a terrible hangover at the minute but will keep going and see what happens - guess as has already been said everyone's situation is different and everyone reacts differently
I take 900 mg a day for nerve pain
I'm on 400mg three times a day. My pain specialist told me it wouldn't work any better if the dose was increased. I have chronic fatigue syndrome too so side effects like sleepiness and tiredness are hard to identify. I was told it contributed to weight gain too. 😩
I have ME as well as nerve damage and am on 900mg 3x a day, it can go up to 3600mg a day, everyone is different I tend to need higher doses. Tried pregabalin but the side effects were not accceptable.
Hi Bunce, my humble opinion is that we each respond differently to any medication. My understanding of gabapentin is that you build up the dosing gradually to what you tolerate and to afigure that helps you control you your pain. its varied with no wrong or right answer.
1200-1600 / day
I have been taken it for the past few weeks and have found it very helpful
Pain clinic let me try 5400mg a day for about 3 months but wasn't making a difference so slowly came off it and use Pregablin instead 150mg twice a day, along with 70mg Targinact twice a day
I was on gabepentine 3x day.... but have been switched to duloxetine. It is working really well for me!!!!!!
At the moment I'm on 300 mg x 3 and 600 mg at night but I was on 1400mg x 4 a day.
I am on 300 x 3. I'm lucky to have no side effects but am used to a lot of medication. I also have another mood stabiliser that helps with pain called lamotrigine. An anti depressant called bupropion, a diclofenac suppository that lasts 12 hours, omeprasole, diazepam and lidocaine patches. Quite a cocktail and I'm sure they have done their best to help. My problem is standing and walking. Unfortunately nothing touches that pain. They told me to keep up with research.
I used to take 6 a day, which stopped the nerve pain.
But, after a while got bad side effects. So cut the down to 1 twice a day. This still stops the pain.
Try a small dose first and see how you go
My GP suggests up to 900gm per day. However, because of the side effects, I try to limit between 300/600gm. I also take Duloxetine, Diclofenac and BuTrans patches. Unfortunately, I suspect my body has become too used to them - also the Diclofenac is known to cause heart problems, but have returned to this drug because Tramadol sent me Ga-Ga !!
I take 900mg , 3x a day for nerve pain, Ve
Ime on 900 3x daily
