Oh, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person:

having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,

but pour them all out, as they are, chaff and grain together,

knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them,

keep what is worth keeping,

and then, with the breath of kindness,

blow the rest away.

A tall order but all we can hope in life really.

Thanking you.

For being there.

this is perfect and just what I was searching for. Several years ago my life was saved (literally) by my councellor, who has since become my friend. But she has had some grey times this year and it's lovely to remind her of how strong she was when I needed her!

Thanks.

These are not my words. I read them years ago and they settled in my heart.

It's funny isn't it how one person can turn your life around.

I am only where I am now when a stranger answered a question that I threw over my shoulder.

She opened a door invited me in and from that the ripples have been echoing down the years.

Glad they struck a chord and can be helpful.

Wishing you both well.
