Tapentadol

I'm trying to reduce my Fentanyl consumption as I'm always high as a kite,my Pain doctor has written to my GP to reduce my Fentanyl from 75mcg to 50mcg at the same time to prescribe me Tapentadol,I would be greatfull if anybody can give me the heads up on this pill,thankyou.

I have been on tapentadol now for two years. I was swapped from tramadol to this by pain consultant. I started on 100mg per day and I now take the max dose of 500mg per day. I find it is slightly more effective for me than tramadol was.

When I first took it, for about a week, I was high as a kite and floating. This didn't last long and now I get no side effects at all.

Just waiting for rheumatologist to give me something in addition for flare Ups, but overall I find it helps.

This has answered a question for me,I am seeing my consultant at the end of the month an this is what he is going to recommend but I'm also on sevradol ( morphine tablets) and 25 mic of fentanyl patch and lidocaine patches so there is some hope still out there.
