Tumeric

I may have asked this before but has anyone tried tumeric to try and help nerve pain.. Mine is getting worse and worse and since medications haven't worked am trying the alternative route. I'm really struggling with the non-stop pain but since I can see no end to it trying to find something that might ease it.

Has anyone used tumeric and found it helpful?

I take Turmeric root extract made by Solgar (2 capsules daily) and I THINK it helps my nerve pain (sciatica). If I forget to take it for a couple of days I need to take my afternoon Gabapentin earlier. Worth a try probably. I can't eat chilli 'cos my stomach can't cope, but have tried various capsicum (chilli) gels on my foot that can get very painful at night, and it definitely helped that. Good luck !

My neurologist has me on Endep for nerve pain in the feet. at 25mg at night and I cope very well but I found out by trial and error that 50mg at night made it a lot worse. So I suggest that you talk to your neurologist before trying the turmeric as a lower dose of your pain killer might work better.
