Hope your not feeling too fed up with this dull wet weather. Must say it would be lovely to see some sunshine. Well I had my post op check up yesterday and the doctor said everything according to plan with the operation. Next step is two more chemos and then a CT scan. I am waiting for the date of my next chemo but he did say it would be around the 5th November. I was told prior to the op that the side affects of chemo number 5 would not be too bad as it will be like having chemo for the first time. My last chemo was in August. I was wondering what other ladies experienced after chemo number 5.
Thanks Ladies
love and best wishes to you all

I don't want to dissillusion you about the chemo - it might be as they say, but it is a cumulative treatment, and only 2 months since your last dose. As it takes 2 years (my oncologist's advice) to fully recover from a full course, it seems unlikely that you will have fully recovered from your previous treatment in 2 months. Of course, it might be that your bloods show that you are responding very unusually, and not becoming anaemic, or depleted in the ways most of us do. I hope so!
All the best for your future treatment and outcome.
I only had carbo-platin and didn't really notice any side-effects but by the fifth chemotherapy session I noticed I was getting breathless walking up hill. It was like mounting Everest. I've also been told that it takes 2 years for chemotherapy to work through your system - but I understand this can be quicker if you do aerobic activity for half an hour at least thee times a week.
One thing I did notice with session 5 and 6 was that I felt resentful. Not resentful about having cancer but angry that I had to waste more time sitting round in hospital plugged up to a pump. Quite unforgivable of me to be churlish when everyone was doing their best to help me, but that's how I felt.
It seems you're sailing through everything. Really good news after your post-op checkup to hear that everything had gone to plan. May the rest of the treatment go the same way. I had only one session where my bloods were borderline and the chemotherapy was postponed for a week - that was number 3 - but I put it down to the excitement of getting married and too much champagne.
Glad all went well, another thing to put behind you. Strangely, I found I sailed through the last 2 chemos with very few side effects. I say this because I had felt quite unwell during the previous ones, so again, we are all different in the way we react to treatment. Fingers crossed you will be fine and it will soon all be over.
So glad everything is going according to plan. Will be thinking of you on the 5th. Fireworks? Not so, I hope........maybe a sparkler? Hope things keep going well. Just look forward to our weekend in London in May
So very pleased for you that all is going in the right direction ...
Linda is right when she say says we all respond to chemo in different ways ..I found 5 and 6 very tiring and then afterwards it I felt very washed out more so than at any point during the chemo as I had the Carbo and Taxol .
Please do take it steady as you have been through so much in the past few weeks .... your body will tell you when to stop ...
Take good care now and just think that the chemo will soon be finished .....
Great to hear you are doing well and you have your 5th chemo planned for 5th Nov. I found I felt very tired for the first 4 days after my 5th and 6th cycles and was constipated after the 5th chemo too. I virtually sailed through the first 4 cycles.
I feel more tired and now then I did previously so am listening to my body.
