I am bleeding mid cycle (14 days after a period) I had an ovary and tumour removed a year ago.I have regular scans, the last one 6 weeks ago. I have read that mid cycle bleeding is caused by oestrogen levels rising, could this mean that the tumour is coming back?

Mid cycle bleed
I'm sorry to hear that you're worrying, but I'm afraid I'm not qualified to answer that one, bluebee. Sorry! I know how worrying it can be when things start to feel different. Is there a nurse specialist at the hospital where you were treated? It may be worth ringing the gynae/oncology nurse there. Or try ringing the Ovacome helpline during the week. It is staffed by nurses who have experience of Ovarian cysts and tumours. Try ringing tomorrow though, as it's a Bank Holiday weekend and you'll be worrying right through that one. The number is 0845 371 0554. Good Luck x
Hi Blue bee,
I am sorry this is worrying for you. Mid-cycle bleeding could be due to changes in your hormone levels. The most common cause for mid cycle bleeding is due to the change in oestrogen levels in the body. Spotting that occurs just before the period is usually due to a fall in the level of progesterone in the blood. This may be quite normal and does not necessarily need treatment.
Beginning or stopping oral contraceptives or oestrogen supplements may cause mid-cycle bleeding.
Some medications affect the menstrual cycle.
Stress, vaginal dryness, vaginal or cervical infection, or an intra uterine devices (IUD) could cause mid cycle spotting. It is advisable to rest during this period.
It might be useful to talk with your gynae clinical nurse specialist or make an appointment to see your oncologist . You could then discuss your concerns directly.
