Hello L
Please stop worrying and focus on taking care of yourself ❤️ . The effects of chemo are cumulative and it will be working away...hopefully you will get through without too much hassle ( I did mostly) but it is still very toxic to your poor old bod. In my experience it can catch you out (went into supermarket the day after and realised the trolley was keeping me upright lol).
Best of luck with it xx Lyndall
It's good that you don't have side effects, I hope it continues for you but just take care and don't do too much xx
Thank you for your very quick reply, really great to have all you Ladies to chat to, things seem so much better :)) x
Hello L I was the same after the 1st. The 2nd had the effects plus my hair came out in big clumps and I decided to have it shaved off. It is cumulative and the 3rd was my worst one as was so ill with head spins, aching joints, temperature to high, mouth ulcers, loss of appetite. I did end up in hospital with this. Just make sure you rest and take care of yourself. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Big hugs Michelle xx
We are all different and react differently, I never ever have a tummy upset but had them on chemo and found them awful because I dont normally have them. The Onc team couldnt understand and had to to get me an anti nausea which worked. The Chemo does have a cumulative effect so you may have some effects the next time but dont be worrying about it either, It doesnt mean the treatment isnt working, the scans you will have will show a reduction so try not to worry
Don't worry about that. I found first one so easy, second one not bad either then by the fifth considered not having the sixth but I persevered. Currently no evidence of disease 7 months on and mine was classified as rare and aggressive. One day at a time one step at a time. The biggest hurdle is your emotions. Good luck
It can also depend on what type of chemo you are having, are you having carbo and taxol or carbo on its own? Have you just finished 1 st session as my side effects KICKED IN with a vengeance on day 4, if you do get any bad side effects please ring your unit as you don't have to suffer.
Hope it all goes well and you continue to feel well
Take care

You don't say how long ago you had your first cycle but I didn't have any real side effects at all after the first one other than a few days of diarrhoea and about a week later some severe ankle pains for a few days. Then I felt fine. After the second again the same plus hair loss. Things started to kick in a bit more after the third with peripheral neuropathy in hands and feet but it will definitely be working for you and zapping those cells.
If you are still only a day or 2 out from your treatments, the steroids they give you prior to treatment can make you feel pretty good. The day after treatments I usually found myself cleaning like mad. The next day after that nausea and bone pain made their appearance.
If it is longer than a few days after treatment and you are still feeling great, how wonderful! Your chemo IS working and your follow-up tests will convince you!
After my first chemo session ( R-CHOP)...I have DLBCL, stage IV., I felt a huge activity in and behind my sternum. It was as if I had a huge army moving around behind my chest. That was the only thing I felt. It was the chemo working; said my doc. Whether that was so, or if he just want to reassure me, as it worried me; is another story. That happened again, but not at such a huge scale after second and third chemo. The remaining 3 sessions weren't so bad. I'm i clinical remission.
I felt surprisingly well after my 1st round of chemo too. It was a bit surreal. Tbh, I haven't felt terrible at all so far after 3 rounds. Tiredness has been the worst side effect...but I have been neutropenic twice, so I know it's working.
I've had Carbo-taxol (1st session), Carbo only (2nd session after allergic reaction to taxol after 10mins), Carbo- docetaxel (3rd session). I'm imagining 4-6 will be a bit harder as the plan is to carry on with docetaxel in the mix and it's that family of drugs which has the biggest impact on me.
My oncologist told me that in his observation less side effects meant that the chemo was doing it job and gobbling up the cancer . He also said was not scientific just his thoughts
Thank you wonderful ladies for all your replies, feeling more at ease, starting second cycle on Tuesday carbo/taxol plus avastin, then taxol only for the following two weeks,
Take care
