hi all,mom was laid to rest friday, the rain poured and poured until the vicar played `danny boy` and suddenly the sun shone thru the windows right onto moms coffin,it was so unreal...she was a really dignified lady who would of fought so hard to cling to life, she was a real gem but for her the path was already chosen,my dad has just passed me a note she wrote a while ago now and to say i got thru a box of tissues is not exagerating, mom never had a chance to fight, but if anything has come out of all this pain its that you MUST fight emotions and pain are just side orders of this demons main course,so keep fighting girls, keep striving on and never give up hope, fight for those you love and for yourself to be loved, mom is now out of pain and sleeping, she has a piece of the countryside forever,I have thrown my hands across the miles of sky to you all and right now am hugging you all tightly, girls "if love was money we`d be rich" xx

Bless you, Shaun, and bless your Mum and family. We laid my mother in law to rest on Christmas Eve 2010. It is all so hard to come to terms with, even more so for my husband, her only child. It is a long road, coming to terms with all that has happened, but you will find that, gradually, you think of her with a smile more than with tears. Thank you so much for your message. And yes........we will keep on keeping on, keep on fighting this b****ard disease, keep on trying to make others aware of the symptoms, and keep on with our friendships, which includes you! I hope things are more peaceful for you now

Love Wendy xx

PS. Have a look at Gwyn's poem about Waterbugs and Dragonflies! It's so lovely to think of the end of life in that way.

Shaun, Thank you so much for your touching message and the beautiful, peaceful photo. The mental picture I have of the sun breaking through to shine on your Mom's coffin is lovely.Thank you, too, for your strong words encouraging us all to fight - we jolly well will !!

I hope you are beginning to settle into a new "normal" life . Nothing can take your dear Mom out of your heart and mind but you have your happy memories - and the bad ones will fade.

Love Solange.
