i read an article where it said to stop ovarian cancer coming back they have been using chemo consisting of cisplatin and etoposide. Really sorry cant remember where i read it think it was daily mail but not sure . Anyone else heard of this. xx

There are a few studies on the web - just google 'cisplatin and etoposide ovarian'. They seem to differ in their view of effectiveness!

Hi Nikki,

I also have read about Etoposide, and it is not used for Ovarian Cancer sadly like always it is for other types of cancer, at the momment they are dragging there heels when it comes to a type of drug for recurrence, many of the trails lead to know where.

I have been treated with Cisplatin and oral Etoposide for ovarian cancer. I had cisplatin once a week for 3 weeks along with the etop tablets> i then had a weeks break and was supposed to have the same again. however my platelets were so low and I was pretty rough so the onc said to discontinue >>>it had reduced ca125 dramatically though, pity I just couldn't hack it! was put onto weekly carbo taxol for 12 weeks which has stabilised my condition> hope this is useful.
