My latest ct scan has shown more enlarged lymph nodes in my chest and abdomen, and CA125 has risen to 470, so my second line chemo regimen (Etopocide orally) has not been effective. First line chemo (6 X Carboplatin and Taxol every 3 weeks) was successful, but remission only lasted 4 months. Onc says I will have some more treatment, but he thinks I should have a rest from chemo for a while, and will go and see him for checks every 4 weeks. I am quite happy to have a break from chemo, and I am not feeling unwell, just p****d off that this monster is refusing to lie down and sleep for a while!

Thank you Suzanne. One of the great things about this site is it allows us to let off steam! I put on a front for my family so that they think I am "coping", but I know all you lovely ladies can understand the frustrations sadness and worry because you are all feeling it too!

Love

Susie

Thank you Gwyn. Where would we be without this site where we can let off steam?!

Sorry things aren't going better for you. Hope you can make the most of the break from chemo and that they come up with more effective options for you.

All the best

Hi Susie,

Sorry that things are not going so well at the moment, but it will be a relief to have a break from the chemo for a little while. Just try to concentrate on giving yourself time to get over the chemo and plan some little treats to enjoy. As you say, the great thing about this site is you can say anything and we all understand, so if you feel like letting off steam ....let rip!

I'm sending you big hugs and wishes that the b###er will lay down and keep quiet after your next lot of treatment. There are so many possibilities now for treatments, and I am sure we are all keeping our fingers crossed for you.

Love Wendy xx

Dear Jacknsooz - I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this. Dealing with the family is almost the worst thing for me so I know how much the site can help. It's probably as well our families don't see what we write on here somtimes.

I think it's good to have a rest to get over the carbo-platin taxol cocktail. It took several months before I regained my energy after chemotherapy and I guess that will give your poor bod a chance to get back into shape and really fight the little blighters.

Take care of yourself. As Wendy says, we're all gunning for you.

So sorry your news was bad. I know how sickening and frightening it must have been. Keep your chin up and try and keep positive. As others have said - plan little treats for yourself. Without more chemo for a while you'll hopefully get more strenghth back,

With fingers crossed for you, Solange
