Will they give me a different chemo drug after surgery?

I have had one course of chemo carbo/taxol which my cancer did not respond to. I am awaiting a operation date.
It probably depends upon what types of tumour they find when thye opersate - but if you want to talk it through ask your nurse specialist, or the Ovacome nurses.
Very best wishes,
Isadora.
Thanks Isadora, I will be asking the question at my pre-op.
Hi
Don't know if this is any use, but I did not respond to the carbo/taxol before operation. After op I was told the taxol had not worked, and so I was given carbo and gemcitabine which seems to have worked, at least for the time being. Check up end of May.
Good luck.
Hiya I had 3 cycles of carbo taxol that didnt work (made my hair fall out though grr) Ive just had my operation so they have the histology of it (and so do I-I asked for a copy...) Im being referred to the Marsden London now so Ill let you know what they are going to do with me xx

Good luck sunny1, It seems quite common that carbo/taxol does not work with a ovarian patients but carbo/gemcit does. Why do the NHS trusts push carbo/taxol as a 1st treatment. I feel they do not look into what cancer it could be initially enough and that leads to prolonged treatment. Anyone any thoughts on that? I feel you will be in very good hands at the Marsden sunny.
