Dear Hil

It's good you've joined us as you're about to start the Rotterdam Regimen. A couple of members have reported going on this scheme and I understand it is very effective for some patients.

I can't help you but only wish you luck and hope you hear from other ladies who've had a successful outcome.

Best wishes. love Annie

Thanks Annie

I believe it is a very intensive treatment with overnight stay.

Hi Hil,

If you look at the American Inspire site I think you will find lots of women who have been on this regime.

Good luck with it.

Hi Anne

Don't think I went to right web site as could find no mention of the regime.

Try Ovarian Cancer National Alliance-I think this is Inspire. You should be able to goggle it.If you get on to the site and search within it you should find some discussions/information on it .

I am one of several people who are on a version of this regime. Some versions are called Van der Berg. However I couldn'taccess it on the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance website either but that may reflect most on my computer skills. I would suggest you look up earlier answers on this site by Bellabee,Lizward and myself, Becalm for some more detailed info. on our experience of this regime.

My current feeling is that I am positive about the outcome so far but there is no doubt the preliminary treatment. with cisplatin is quite demanding.Rather than repeat earlier input i would suggest you look it up but please feel free to raise any questions you still have.Iam sure people willbe anxious to help if they can. Like you I was diagnosed some time ago (2005) and had three years of remission before the cancer recurred. Since then I've had a series of chemos. but with limited periods of remission.

I hope very much that this will prove to be a successful treatment for you.

All the best - Bunty.

Thanks Bunty

I have seen the posts you mentioned and wonder how Lizward is as the posts were some time ago. I have always been very positive and my last scan showed very slow progression. I feel very fortunate that I have mainly felt well over the last 12 years. This will be my fourth session of chemo almost 10 years before the recurrence then treatment with further treatment 13 months later, this treatment is 12 months. My main concern with any treatment now is the constipation from the anti sickness as I had three episodes of blocked bowel last year. Am on regular 4 sachets Movicol every day now and low fibre diet.

Thanks for your words of support. Will post how I get on.

Best wishes to all

Hi! Hilary

Yes I think it is quite important to sort out with the onc. the medications for nausea, sickness and constipation before you start the cisplatin treatment. I am not naturally inclined to constipation but did have it. I was prescribed Laxicon Orange (I hope that is its right name, it is actually a stool softener) and after a false start when I rather mixed up the dosage it did work quite well.

For positive outcomes( well, one always likes to see these, doesn't one?) I was impressed by Bellabee's - in Dec'12 she was reporting a remission from Sept '11 which seemed quite heartening.

In any case hope it goes really well for you.

Bunty.
