A friend sent me the link for the Daily Mail re this article headed "3,000-volt jab that shrunk my 'inoperable' cancer by half". It's like everything else, it does have its limitations and trials are being run by Dr Edward Leen - Professor of radiology at Imperial College, London & the Princess Grace Hospital, London. The machine is called NanoKnife a brand new cancer treatment. NHS patients are currently being treated as part of a clinical trial otherwise treatment costs around £10,000.

Without me going into too much detail, google dailymail.co.uk and click on Health & read it yourself.

Had my PET scan a couple of weeks ago & due at hospital next Wednesday to see what the way forward is. This is 3rd time around (been battling it for 15 years now) but no surgery on offer as too dangerous, this is the 3rd time it's grown on the same site, & chemo is a last option due to very low platelets.

Will let you know the outcome next week & what they come up with.

As I've said before 'there's life in the old dog yet & I truly believe i'll get through it again'. Got 2 holidays booked, one with the girls in June and one with hubby in July & every intention of going. Cancellation doesn't come into the equation. Our weather in Glasgow had been great for the previous 2 wks then all of a sudden the heat/sun disappeared & we had a fall of snow with bitter cold winds. Back to the Damart vests & the fur coat. Would you believe it, the sun's just come out.

It is so encouraging to know you have survived 15 yrs, I too couldn't have more surgery this time so relying on chemo to reduce it similar to yours. I tried to get that link on Daily mail but not there today, maybe yesterdays, or I coiuldn't see it! love Diane xxxxx

Hi, how did you go with your nanoknife surgery. My Son has cancer and is thinking of trying this method for his tumor. Any advice would be helpful. Many thanks

I didn't have the nanoknife surgery. Spoke to my Professor & he wants me to stay on the Letrozole which seems to be working for me. I've been on it now for 1 yr & 7 months & result of scan last week was that it is in a stable condition (hasn't increased or decreased) so I'm a happy bunny at the moment with good quality of life, Next April will be 17 yrs since first diagnosed in 1997, then 2007 & 2012.

thank you for the article I will read it from the paper. I do admire your attitude, I find that it help to have some goals

it keeps the brain matter from thinking about our disease.You go for it.

As the nanoknife I read another article in the Daily mail I think it was in Scotland and the outcome was excellent

with the particular gentleman who had it done.

Yes you are right on this one have found a cutting, I have kept. It doesnt have a date in but not more than 18months ago, but then it talks about the procedure 18months prior to the article. I expect it will have been procedure will have been used more. Lets hope so.
