suspected OC

Here’s my story:

I went to my gp on Monday for random lower abdominal pain, sometimes like pokers in my left side and sometimes like dragging all over. My CA125 has come back at 36, only 1 point over. In 2022 it was 21.

I am 52, been on HRT for 5 years with testosterone gel a couple of times a week. I haven’t had a period for about 4 years. On Tuesday I am having a scan.

My question (there are many going around my brain!) has anyone had similar and it was all ok? I don’t want to worry my family about this so figured this would be a safe place to chat about my anxiety.

Thank you for taking the time

Hello DekaWC

You are probably not going to get the answer you want to your question on here as most of the participants are on this site because they have had OC.

That being said does not mean that you have OC. Your CA125 is only slightly above normal and there are lots of reasons for this aside from OC. The pain you are experiencing could also be nothing to do with OC, I had zero pain when I was dx.

It’s good that you are having all the appropriate tests/scans and you will know more after your scan. I know it’s hard (we’ve all been there) but try not to get too ahead of yourself. Until you are told OC it isn’t and if it were bad news there will be a plan of treatment for you.

I hope you get good news on Tuesday good luck xx Jen

Hi Jen

Thank you so much for reading and replying to my message! I am so sorry for your diagnosis. It’s just so stressful waiting. Thank you for levelling my mind! I have my granddaughter staying over this weekend which is a good distraction!

I will do my best to stay calm! I wish you all the very best with your treatment and the future xxx

I know this isn’t easy and as someone already said there can be many reasons that your CA125 is up slightly. Mine was over a 1,000 when I was diagnosed with OC. Good luck x
