hi, I was diagnosed with LGSOC stage 3b in 2020. Had debulking surgery, then 6 rounds of carboplatin only and have been on letrozole since2021 and I’m still ned 🤞Sending best wishes to you and your better half 😀
Hi, I've had two different chemo treatments and naraparib in between for two years. This time I switched to oral letrozole after chemo ended but am due to start chemo for another 6 rounds in June, after only 9 months remission, so it hasn't been very effective for me as far as I'm concerned
Hi I was diagnosed in March 2021 with stage 3 a LGSOC had 6 rounds of carboplatin. Have been on Letrozole since finishing chemo and have been ned since . Wishing your partner all the best going forward with their treatment.
yes that is when they found my LGSOC
Hello, I was diagnosed with low grade serous carcinoma in March 2024. Wasn't suggested to join a clinical trial which I would have accepted. There is a very little research on it therefore very little info. Treated as breast cancer, which it is so not but shares some characteristics with. I was told that an aggressive surgery is the most important thing and am glad to hear that your partner had successfull debunking! A great start! I had 6 cycles of carboplatin and paclitaxel, not too much evidence on how effective this is for low grades as they are less reactive to chemo but I decided I wanted to take every precaution. Chemo isn't a walk in the park but if your partner is fairly fit she will most likely be OK. Focus on good nutrition, rest and moderate but regular exercise! Sounds crazy but the more active I was the more energy I had. Currently taking letrozole since November, started having some muscle aches and fatigue. I have a tiny spot on my liver, missed at the surgery - can I blame them it was everywhere! With the letrozole the spot is shrinking and barely visible in January, 3 months on letrozole at the time! I would say a good result, my oncologist is very happy with it. I don't know if she had a total hysterectomy and is "happily menopousing" like me but letrozole worsened the intimate discomfort and increased my fatigue. Nevertheless, I plan to continue for as long as I can tolerate it as it is one of the maintenance drugs with best results. Good luck and if there is anything I could help with just message.
Hi, I was diagnosed with LGSOC Stage 3a in August 2023. I had debulking but my results were a little unusual in that the ovaries and tumours were borderline and the only cancer was a tiny amount in one lymph node. Because of that I didn’t have chemo and have been treated with Letrozole only since October 23. I’ve been No Evidence of Disease since. I wasn’t on a clinical trial but my treatment was the result of a trial held at MD Anderson Centre in Texas. I was reassured that I would have regular check ups and chemo could always be an option later if needed but thankfully 18 months later it hasn’t been needed. Wishing you both all the best going forward.
