Update : rising ca125

Hi everyone,

I posted a while ago about the rise in my ca125 level from 11 in September 23 , to 58 currently.

I had a CT scan where a swollen supraclavicular lymph node was noted (at15mm) plus a further enlarged node in the chest area .

I know this this must make me sound extremely stupid , but as I didn’t hear the word “ recurrence “ , I felt so relieved and my mind went blank , I asked very little afterwards . I am to have a further scan in a couple of months to monitor the situation .

My Avastin infusions finished last month and I’m receiving Olaparib till next May .

I wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation at this stage in treatment , or if you have any thoughts generally? I have my next clinic appointment with the oncologist next week

Many thanks and best wishes

Kx

Hello 👋, 1st thing to ask is did you have the lymph show up on a previous scan but not made aware of them or are they a new thing. Also I have a 7mm lymph in my pelvis that my onc says there is no way of knowing for sure if there is disease present as it hasn't budged🤗 they may be watching and waiting to see as the parps may sort them out or you may have had an infection prior to the scan? All possibilities 🤞🤞🤞 I'm sending positive thoughts to you and hope it helps X Rhian x

Thanks for your reply Rhian .

I did ask whether the swollen node had been noted on my previous scan , which was in April 2023 , and was told it was normal size then ( 10mm, I think was said)

I think the oncologist wants me to keep taking the Parp for as long as possible and to monitor any changes via a scan just before Xmas

Thanks for your positive thoughts , every good wish to you also

I was NED 22 months when my CA125 started rising my scan showed a supraclavicular lymph node which is not common but that lymph node is directly connected to the pelvis I'm in the states so it may be a bit different but my onc had me get a biopsy which confirmed it was the same OC type it wasn't that uncomfortable I would push for a biopsy I inquired as to having SBRT on the lymph node but my onc felt if it was there it could be systemic went on carbo/taxol as I was platinum sensitive mid way pet and post 6 infusions showed clear 3 months later my CA125 started rising again as its a good indicator for me I'm now on Cytoxan (daily low dose chemo pill), Avastin/Keytruda every 21 days. A nodule in the lung area could be benign as their common hope this helps.
