Hi, everyone. Looking for any information regarding liver metastasis from ovarian cancer. I believe I have a 4cm tumor in my liver. What is the treatment plan for this? More importantly, what is the time frame? Am I looking at my last few months? Any information is much appreciated. God Bless you all.
Liver Mets: Hi, everyone. Looking for any... - My Ovacome
Liver Mets
Hi there, I had a 4cm tumour in my liver which was removed surgically. I had to be reviewed by the hepato-bilary MDT to see if surgery was possible (it was) and they did the op. It was a major op and recovery took a long time. That was in early 2022 and I'm still here!
Thank you for that information. God Bless you. Keep fighting! 🙏
Pleased to hear that surgery was successful for you. I found out a month ago that I have 1 x 2 cm lesion and 1 x1.2cm lesion on my liver. I have primary peritoneal cancer and in 3 years I have already had 3 different types of chemo plus Niraparib which is no longer working. Did you have to push for surgery ? I am 72 and haven’t been offered. Best Wishes Katy
I didn't have to push for it as such, but did have to jump through a lot of hoops, namely was I fit enough for the surgery (once they had decided that surgery was possible, it isn't always). I have had new much smaller mets since then that have mostly responded to chemo, and those times surgery not mentioned. Not sure I'd want to go through such a big op again tbh.
Hi Cheadle, I too have a liver tumor. I have been on Paclitaxol for the last three and a half months. I was responding very well until about two weeks ago. I had a CT yesterday and the results show new small mets around the main tumor. I'm just wondering what chemo you were on that the liver tumor responded to? I'm thinking maybe Mirvetuximab might be a possibility.

Hi Ann, not heard of the drug you mention. After my liver resection in 2022, I had a course of carbo/caelyx and a clear post-chemo scan , though my guess is that the op did the heavy lifting. At my next relapse, there was a new liver tumour which disappeared after a course of gem/carbo. I relapse again pretty quickly, with another liver tumour on show. This time, [now deemed platinum resistant] I had 18 weeks of taxol, with three-weekly bevacizumab added in. No clear scan at the end of this but, notably, the liver tumour had shrunk. Been on maintenance bevacizumab alone since the liver tumour, while still there, is still shrinking. Hope this info helpful x
I had tumour on liver removed in2011 and they found one on my diaphragm during surgery which was trickier to remove but been clear since then.Took about three months recovery as I was quite breathless after diaphragm surgery but fine after that.quite a big scar to add to add to my collection! The liver responds well to surgery apparently.
