Hi everyone,

I'll be starting my Carbo/caelyx or my onc might put me through Carb/taxol again (I had this when I was first diagnosed) and she said they will add Avastin to this combo for the 6 cycles. Has anyone been given these 3 combos for their first recurrence (CA125 jumped from 86 to 138 recently). If so, how did you tolerated these drugs? In other words, what were the side effects. I know that I will lose my hair again ugh! Other than losing hair any major side effects with these 3 combos?

As well, onc mentioned that after my 6 cycles of this combo, they will put me on a maintenance drug once every 3 weeks either Avastin or MIRV. Has anyone gone through with this too?

I had. a good experience - except for hair falling out - with the carbo/taxol/avastin combo when I had my first recurrence about a year after my initial surgery and chemo. Side effects were manageable and the combo did a good job beating back the cancer. After 6 cycles I continued on Avastin alone for 10 months and that was easy. Best of luck!

I had a much easier time with carbo caelyx than with carbo taxol. You shouldn’t lose your hair with caelyx. You need to moisturizer hands and feet frequently and use a mild mouthwash.
