Ascites coming back

Hi,Was hoping for some advice please. My Mum was diagnosed in April 2022 with primary peritoneal cancer. She responded well to chemo but has had two recurrences, with chemo working each time at fighting it back. She is now on third line and her CA markers reduced again and are fairly steady at around 60 which the oncologist seems happy with ( she was over 800 on diagnosis). She has struggled with ascites and had several drains, but previously the chemo kept it pretty much at bay. This time the ascites is gradually building again despite being on chemo (tho only Carbo this time), shes just finsihed her sixth cycle. Her markers remain the same. I just wandered if anyone had similar experiences? Mum's treatment options are reducing as she has now had Avastin which worked for a while but stopped, and Niraparib didn't work for her. Her oncologist suggested there are a couple of other options to try, but I am unsure what. She is in with the oncologist in a couple of weeks, so just trying to gather as much info in advance as I can. Thank you

I also have primary peritoneal cancer diagnosed in October 2021. I had 2 drains of about 7 litres prior to starting chemo. The ascites has been kept at bay by the following chemos. First I had the fairly standard carbo/taxol/avastin and debulking surgery. Tried avastin alone but it didn’t work, the carbo /caelyx, followed by a year on Niraparib. The Niraparib gradually stopped working so there followed carbo/gemcitabine. I am hoping to get onto a trial at The Churchill in Oxford as the cancer has now spread to my liver and I have become resistant to carboplatin, I do worry that the ascites may return though. Best Wishes to your Mum. 🙏
