Radiation and CA125 increase

I had surgery last November to remove a large tumor along with my ovaries (already had a hysterectomy). In June, a CT scan showed the lymph nodes in my pelvis were growing and a biopsy confirmed that the cancer had spread (or was there all along). I started radiation therapy and had bloodwork done after 4 treatments. My CA125 (which had been slowing rising) took a huge jump. I found one article stating that this can be caused by the radiation. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

yes, they warned me of that because the radiation can cause its own inflammation. They did tell me the results of radiation stay with you for a good few months. I hope your numbers come down over time. Good luck.
