Recurrence?im scared

I don't know where to start because I'm scared to death. I already made a post about my situation but I need to talk more about it with people who understand my situation. My mother, my beloved mother... my reason for living. In 2020 she underwent surgery for stage one seromucinous adenocarcinoma cyst. six cycles of chemo and everything went well. In recent years the only notable findings in the CT scans have been the incisional hernia and a spigelian hernia. the other day, after eating a lot of raw vegetables, she started having very bad stomach pain, followed by vomiting. we rushed to the emergency room where they did an ultrasound, for which they didn't give me the report, saying that they saw the dilated intestinal loops with effusions (of what?) they didn't do a CT scan, they did an abdominal x-ray which showed some air-water levels. they discharged her, telling her that there were no surgical emergencies and to continue the follow up. her oncologist wants her to have a CT scan.. and I'm afraid he thinks the cancer has returned!!! but then why not tell her this in er? I read and reread posts in groups and no one has discovered a recurrence in this brutal and sudden way, her last CT scan was only four months ago... what's wrong with my mum? I'm not eating anymore, I'm desperate...

I'm sorry that you are going through this but I really think you need to speak ovacome councillors, they are amazing and will help you or yourmums cns nurse. I think you not eating isn't going to help your mum as she needs you fit and well to help her face whatever comes next! If you get sick then you would just add to her worries. It maybe just the raw food has irritated her bowels and she needs a low fibre diet? I've read that this can happen. Anyway try and get rest and fit ready to face what comes next xxxx

try not to panic , I’ve been doing this for 5 years intermittently since chemo . Just finished a week of nausea/sickness only stopped by injection. Mostly always when I step outside my diet rules . Try to manage your anxiety for you mum , my daughter struggles on this , like all our lovely children

Raw veggies sounds iffy to me

Hope all gets sorted quickly

Best wishes

a CT Scan asap sounds necessary. Of course you’re scared, it’s your dear Mom. If it is a recurrence, her Onco will want to start treating. The sooner, the better. Praying for her, and you.

Ask Dr instead of a CT or along with it you want a pet scan. You need to be your mom's advocate, hopefully she will let you. Try not to stress, it's always in God's hands. Stress is a killer, try to calm yourself, your mom seeing you suffer isn't good for her either. Prayers for you both. 💜 Liz
