I’ve not had an inflammation of the mouth from chemo but did have one after surgery as a reaction from painkillers. A nurse advised pineapple juice as it’s apparently a natural antiseptic and it did help over a couple of days.
Thank you do much SuffolkJen .unfortunate I'm not allowed to drink pineapple juice due an obstruction of the intestines stage III( also caused by the caelyx(. But appreciate anyway your recommendations.Thank you Dear xxx
Poor you Pumpkininja! Caelyx also attacked my skin and particularly the membranes of my throat and nose. I used a mild salt water solution to gargle with and as a nasal douche. It seemed to soothe and promote healing, although I am not sure I had it as badly.
You should definitely get on to your team, you need to be able to eat and drink xx
Difflam oral rinse slightly numbs the mouth and is anti inflammatory. you can use this every 90 minutes. Its what they prescribe on my chemo ward. Plus effervescent paracetamol, you can gargle then swallow, very effective.
Dear NewtonEmma1900 thank you.my doctor pass a prescription for something prepared in the pharmacy with lidocaine etc.is already a bite better. Thank God!Best wishes xxx
