So really sorry to hear you are in this horrible waiting period . There is absolutely nothing worse than being in limbo . Just to maybe help , when i was diagnosed with advanced cancer i had NO pain at all , and i know there are many of us with a similar beginning. And many gut problems can make you bloated . You could try ringing the consultant secretary and just enquire on progress with appointment, for sure they will be doing their best. Meanwhile try not to be on your own too much , gives you time to think !

Everything crossed for you

This time, when you’re waiting to be seen, is the worst time. I know it seems endless. If it’s classed as an urgent referral then it should be soon.

Meanwhile, please don’t use Dr Google - the info is out of date and non-specific. If you want to find out more, have a look on the Ovacome website or the Target Ovarian Cancer one, there is lots of info on both of those to help to prepare you for what might (or might not) lie ahead.

Even if the worst happens, it’s not all bad news. So many more women are treated successfully now, especially if the symptoms are caught early. Try to divert your mind with little treats each day and maybe some mindfulness exercises. I found that was very helpful. Good luck.

Love Wendy xx

Hello

I was diagnosed last year. Do not Google symptoms. I did and it made me worry a lot more. You are now in the NHS system. It is awful waiting, we have all been there. The ladies on here are fantastic for support whilst you are waiting to hear about your appointment. Please feel free to ask any question, there is no question too silly to ask on here. Please also let us know how you get on with your appointment.

Love and hugs.

Hi MK82

This waiting time really is awful, and every lady on this site has been there, and knows how you’re feeling. However, for every one of us, there are many, many more who have experienced that worry unnecessarily because their symptoms have turned out not to be ovarian cancer. So many things can cause the symptoms you describe.

If when you get the results you should become a member of this very special club that no one really wants to join, don’t panic. Treatments have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years, with new ones being developed all the time. I won’t pretend it’s an easy journey, but this group and NHS cancer teams are so supportive. When I was diagnosed at stage 4b, I thought that was the end for me (I’d had few symptoms and no pain). That was over 3 and a half years ago, and I’m writing this from Portugal on my second holiday this year. There is hope!

Hi MK82. I'm so sorry you're feeling so worried and scared. It's horrible feeling like that. I think the ladies in the comments have very good advice. It is hard waiting. I'm waiting for an appointment myself. I don't know if you would want to but the nurses at MacMillan - can find the number online - are really helpful to talk to. And sometimes it can help just to have a knowledge person to talk to. I spoke to them recently a couple of times and it helped. Sending you much love. N. xx 💕
