hey all,
I posted last week about mum requiring a biopsy re. 8cm lump to right ovary with surrounding.
They discussed her again at mdt last week and the interventional radiology department decided it was too risky and she was referred for surgery.
She met with her new consultant this morning as has been referred to a different hospital as they are specialist. The consultant said they won’t biopsy as if the cut into it, it could spread the cancer further. So she’s having total abdominal hysterectomy and they will biopsy after and also biopsy her lymph nodes to check they’re clear.
Given the consultant and doctors strikes next week, they’ve advised her that surgery is unlikely to happen until the end of September 😩
My question is, is it possible for it to spread within that time?
and also, if it is isolated to that right ovary, once it’s removed etc, is it able to reoccur or wil that be the end of it?
thanks
X
