Quick question can you have two separate Ovarian Cancers at the same time? My diagnosis was given last year of 3c low grade serous, I have had a small nodule removed from my abdomen on the 22nd Jan. The Pathologist has come back and said that it was a borderline tumour but doesn't relate to the cancer I had? they said it could be from the other ovary or something like that.. anyway the pathologist is having another look and comparing it against my tumours from last year but I don't really know what to think now ? has anyone had a similar experience?
Thanks xx

Hi, I had endometrial cancer stage 1b and then after the debulking diagnosed with high grade serous in one fallopian tube. It is really strange how you get more than one cancer at the same time. Unfortunately I have no idea why.
I had a mixture of borderline and low grade when originally diagnosed. It's not uncommon for borderline to change to low grade so I don't think they're considered as two separate cancers x
Hi, yes to this. I had a low grade on the ovary and a high grade that has spread via endometriosis and adhered to the bowel. My consultants describe them as two different biologies in the same area. Again, I have now ideas why or how this happens. Sending you my best wishes and hope all goes well for you. Laura x
thank you all so much for your replies. I honestly had no idea this could happen. I’ve just had a call to say they have had another look and it is low grade the same as the other cancer after all he had to get a second opinion to check x
hello. It’s absolutely possible to have two types of OC. I’ve known a few women with High and Low Grade OC.
As for yourself, the Borderline tumours are associated with your Low Grade OC. Borderline Tumours often evolve into Low Grade and many studies have cited that. They will most likely continue along the same lines of treatment management for your Low Grade because if the Borderline tumours change they too will become Low Grade .
I was diagnosed with Borderline tumours in 2014 and 8 months later I had a nodule removed that turned out to be Low Grade. Over the years I’ve known many women with the same pathology. We have a support group on Facebook for just Low Grade OC of which I’m an admin . It’s a group that Jane Ludeman and myself set up to help women like us know the facts as this disease is so rare. If you’d like to join us you’d be so welcome… facebook.com/groups/lgscsup...
