Symptoms OC after transvaginal ultrasound

Hi,

I am 39.

My cycle is very regular, and I've started to have heavy bleeding during my periods.

I had a first pelvic ultrasound : the report says I have some irregularities in my endometrium and a small cyst.

Two month after, right after the end of my period, I had a biopsy and an transvaginal ultrasound. The biopsy returns normal, the endometrium seems OK, but now the gynecologist says I have a small fibroid, and I need further tests for my cyst:

- the blood tests return normal for LD, Beta hCG, AFP, and CA 125,

- my MRI is in 2 months.

Right after the ultrasound, I've started to have pelvic pain, then abdominal pain. The pelvic pain has almost stopped, but I experienced IBS symptoms. I've already been a diagnostic of IBS , and I "manage" it with a strict diet (no processed food, no alcohol, no refined sugar, ...), so I'm surprised, especially at this moment.

I've read that bowels can hide ovarians, and sonographer need to push the bowels to see them. I was saying that a biopsy + ultrasound just after my periods + stress + my IBS background have cause some disturbances on these area, or I have an ovarian cancer.

I try to stay calm, and not worry too much before the MRI, but as you imagine it's quite difficult. Have you already feel similar pain after a transvaginal ultrasound ?

Thank you for your help.

being in limbo is always difficult and so is the pain. On the bright side, if they were really worried about you, that MRI would be a much earlier date. I wish you well and that the MR I comes to an innocent conclusion.

Hi, thanks for your post. People here are so caring and supportive! ♥️

I received my MRI slot two weeks after my blood test. I assume things would have been different if the tests results were bad.

I will try to stay calm, and take care of myself, and pray for positive results.

Hi,

I've received my report after almost two weeks of having the MRI.

It turns out that my cyst isn't malignant; it's an endometrioma (chocolate cyst). The symptoms I've been experiencing, similar to those of IBS, are related to my severe endometriosis.

I never suspected having this condition, the cyst increased in size, and my strict diet has probably hide it.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support. I have read many comments on this forum, and I truly admire all the ladies here.

I am going to get more involved in women's health. Where I live, there is so much to do, and we deserve it.
