Hi All, I’m due for my 5th covid vaccination tomorrow and have just found out about Evusheld from AstraZeneca which is for the immunosuppressed and lasts for six months. My CNS knows nothing about it! I can’t see any way to get it. Anyone out there know? X Gill
Evusheld vaccine : Hi All, I’m due for my 5th... - My Ovacome
Evusheld vaccine
I would like to know too! Were you asked to produce a letter from your oncologist to say you should have the fifth? I went along but they wouldn’t vaccinate me for this reason, even though it wasn’t specified in the invitation x
Hi Lyndy, they say I have to take any written evidence I have of my OC or my pills. Update on Evusheld. I spoke to my GP who had never heard of it but he googled! and said it’s approved but the roll out isn’t up and running yet and explained that he thought it would only be available in a hospital setting as recipients will need to be monitored for an hour afterwards. He couldn’t see how that could be made available to the general public so thought they would be very specific about who they will give it to. I guess that’s us, but not yet I think. I’m going ahead with the fifth ordinary for now. This is in UK. I think it’s available in other countries. X Gill
I got an email from NHS saying I was eligible due to immuno supressed and giving a link to book in. It does say you need something from your GP but I just booked my vaccination
Also, have today spoken to a couple of people had their 5th dose and they both said they felt really unwell with it ! I think I will ask what vaccine it is when I go and decide on the spot whether to have it or not.
Hi Rosebine, I had my 5th on Friday, it was Moderna and yes I did feel worse than after having AstraZeneca or Pfizer but I am ok today. So rest assured it doesn’t last too long and now I know I’m as protected as I can be. Don’t be put off, it soon passes. Gill XPS They did ask for evidence that I was eligible and my diagnosis letter was acceptable.
Had my fifth booster and felt fine afterwards
