In nov found a lump in belly, having had peritoneal cancer in 2020 was obviously concerned Ca125 was 121. 3x what it was at diagnosis. Have had scan showing that the lump was a collection of fluid from surgery 15 months ago but no sign of cancer . Just got my latest CA 125 back and its now 273

Has anyone else had this problem as obviously am concerned xx

Hi

Sorry to hear this,if it was me

I would be asking for a pet scan next if nothing showed up on a ct scan, it would hopefully give you some answers as to if anything is going on or not.

Hi Tezzaa66My ca125 was higher than normal for over 2 years with nothing much showing on the scans. I chose not to chase the cancer but, as I had no symptoms, to carry on with life as normal. I did recur eventually and had quite a difficult time but a lot of this was down to delay because of the pandemic. Generally the medics don’t want to treat a recurrence until it’s symptomatic but I know some people prefer early treatment…

The bottom line for you is that they don’t know what is causing your high level… could it be inflammation from the fluid bump? xx

My ca125 was increasing every month since April reaching 116 this month. I had a CT scan in September and December and both clear. I pushed for a PET scan and received the results on Wednesday. I have reoccurrence with cancer in lymph node. Really hope yours is ok but I would push for a PET. Wishing you all the very best x

Hi Tezza I am sorry to hear this. My Ca125 is currently 245 after going down to 90 I have also found a lump in my stomach. Now tummy is swelling and it looks like my ascites is back. Oncology are right on the ball and I've had a scan just waiting for the results. My consultant thinks the lump could be a hernia again im waiting to see. Consultant thinks another course of chemotherapy is the way forward and in view of this she has taken me off of the avastin. My debulking operation was in June 2020 Best wishes to you Hazel

Thanks for replying. Mine was found originally when I had emergency surgery for a hernia had no symptoms at all so when the lump came back it was my first thought. Appears to be fluid but no follow up and seem to be fighting a battle to get answers that I am happy withToday I am phoning the oncologist Secretary to get her moving forward xxx
