High ca125: I have a high ca125 level so now... - My Ovacome
High ca125
Hi Tadha74, I can really understand your worry, you obviously have some knowledge of ovarian cancer because of your mum, so your anxiety is totally understandable. Please remember that other factors can raise your CA125 not just OC, try not to worry too much until you have had your scan and got the results. Take lots of care, big hugs and love ❤xx Jane
Hi Tasha 74,
I can only add try not to worry it is easier said then done but stress will only make is worst ,
I'm sorry to hear about your mum, I know how hard that would have been for you as I see this with my daughter she tries so hard to keep my spirits up sometimes, I love her for it.
I do hope you have some one you can talk to and be able to say how you feel this helps,do remember that you can always come to the ladies on this site it has help me many times just to let it all out.
As Jane said other factors can raise the Ca 125.
Hoping all goes well for you. love Lorraine xx
Hi Tasha and welcome to the site and thank you for posting. The medical team do not go by 125 alone, they go by it combines with ultra sound and ct scan. It is good your doctor is being proactive. It may be raised for other reasons so try not to pre empt until you have all the results. Ovarian Cancer is much more manageable these days so focus on this
Sending you loads of good wishes and calm. It's scary and unfortunately even with taking the most considered practical approach possible to the tests and time they take it doest make it easy.
There are usually quite a few different tests (and time which goes alongside these) at the investigation. Nothing happens quickly and that can be hard for lovely ladies to understand.
You've already been told that CA 125 is not a diagnostic however it's good they are taking your beloved mums history seriously. (So sorry to read about your mum x).
Keep a note of your symptoms, it's easy to think ' oh it's happening regularly so I won't forgot" but you do and time passes!
So what, for how long etc.
Write down all your questions in a book or large sheet of paper and ask them all. Again it's easy to think "oh I won't bother with that one!" - they are ALL important.
One test ie Ultrasound may lead to MRI or CT so don't expect a quick answer initially. It's frustrating but the norm in most cases.
the good thing is you're being taken seriously. The scary thing is , Well it IS scary.
Post here, don't keep things in.
Thinking of you

Tasha ,
CA125 Is a test that Is a protein marker. It just means your body's alarm is going because something isn't quite right. Breathe.Think good thoughts till you get all your information together.don't panic unless your specialist tells you you need too. Hugs
Hello. It's so hard not to think the worst, but CA125 is a marker, not a diagnosis. I hope you get you tests and results quickly. Even if it is cancer they have hopefully caught it early. And treatment is improving all the time. I was diagnosed stage 3/4 over six years ago.
Tasha74, From what I've read here it sounds like you're on top of things having requested bloodwork. Ultrasound is NOT a reliable diagnostic tool. FYI, I had a Transvaginal Ultrasound AND a camera put up my Urethra to examine my bladder which both showed NOTHING. I didn't know enough about ovarian cancer to have pushed for a CAT scan. If I had done so perhaps my disease could have been caught at stage one or two instead of 3C. So please push for a CAT scan if ultrasound doesn't reveal anything! FYI, I also had endoscopy and colonoscopy which each revealed NOTHING. The reason for that is because I had epithelial hi grade serous OC. Epithelial cells grow on the OUTSIDE of your organs only to infiltrate at later stages that are harder to fight. All that said, I'm currently NED 7+ months.
I can't begin to know how scared you must be feeling at the moment - just take each day as it comes. Wising you all the best xxx
