Hi! Sounds to me as if it's OK, according to what my oncologist and CNS have told me. They said anything under 35 is OK. If your CT scan was clear also, it sounds as if there's nothing to worry about. If there are any other symptoms though, maybe give your CNS or the Ovacome nurses a ring on Monday. All the best

Thank you no symptoms. I feel great just always worry about any rise even when small.

I agree with Wendy. No need at all to worry - the test is apparently not that sensitive, so a variation of less than 5 is of no significance. My oncologist says such variations are due to which set of equipment was used, probably!

As long as your ct scan is clear, you can relax.

Have a lovely weekend.

Isadora.

I would suggest, depending on the frequency of your CA125 tests, another test of you CA125 within a month of the last one that showed to rise from 17 - 21, and then follow the advice of your oncologist. That is what I have just done at the suggestion of my oncologist, and my initial CA125 was at 17, nearly triple its usual figure, whilst my C reactive protein, a measure of inflammation within the digestive system, had sky rocketed from its normal 1-2 to 197. I did this, and fortunately for me, my oncologist reckons that the panic is over. Simply because my C reactive protein is now 2, and my CA125 has fallen to 12. This is, my oncologist says, as result of my having had the first CA125 test during my recovery from heatstroke - which I suffered in June right here in East Yorkshire, but I had to call the out of hours GP, and he came and gave me some rehydration salts and waited until I told him I felt better, because he intended to send me up to A&E by ambulance if not. Thank God for the NHS, and also a good oncologist.

Apparently CRP falls first and CA125 follows, and I have another test due in one month's time to confirm my CA125 and CRP are have both returned to normal, I hope, fingers crossed etc.. You can always ask your own oncologist what you own C reative protein level is as well, and if s/he asks why, explain to them that you discovered this on Heal Unlocked/Ovacome.

Hope this helps you and sorry if I've scared you, but I am telling you my version of the experience you currently undergoing yourself. I am sure that since your CA125 is well within normal levels, any possible recurrence, which may well be and likely is none at all, I think, will be easily treated by any good oncologist. Ask the Ovacome nurse led help line for more info.

Totally agree with WendyDee - my oncologist has always advised that anything under 35 is nothing to worry about and that he tends to take much more n otice of the results of a CT scan. I'd relax and try not to worry...sounds as though you're doing fine!

Best wishes

Thank you it has been hard because one of my best freinds with ovarian cancer is in hospice now. I just came back from the gym and feel awesome. I just don't want to have some trend of upward ca125. It is all of our fears as suvivors, right? We live by that number. My grandson is coming and he always makes me smile ansd feel very much alive!

I am hoping that my oncologist will tell me today that I can rejoin the gym and resume aquarobics and swimming as I miss both and have lost confidence in my ability to get back if I walk or cycle as my knees give way and I have to cling to lamp posts. At least at the gym when that happens I am still in the same place!

That must be hard for you, seeing your best friend go through it.

We're all diffferent though - bear that in mind and focus on the good news you have that your CA125 levels are below the normal level and that your CT is clear; all positive things to focus on! Now - go and enjoy your Grandson and keep strong.
