I started olaparib 13 days ago also avastin every 3 weeks and it seems my hair is not growing back that quickly. Does your hair grow back on this stuff? Wishing everybody a merry Christmas and lots of love Sheenagh. Xx

Hi Sheenagh, I’m on the same combination, I had a gap of 8 weeks after chemo and before I started the Olaparib and Avastin maintenance regime. In those 8 weeks, the hair on my head grew about 3 inches! sadly, this was reflected on my legs, underarms and other areas!! Once I started the Olaparib/Avastin regime though, my hair stopped growing (or at least has slowed down very dramatically). I last shaved my legs and underarms in August and they’re only just starting to show the tiniest amount of stubble now...

Hi testarossa71

I was started on my maintenance treatment 3 weeks after my last chemotherapy treatment. It feels like my hair hasn’t had a chance to grow. I think I last shaved my legs back in May. Lot of love you Sheenagh xx

Blimey testarossa, 3 inches! I’m on the same regime and mine is growing back slowly. But, hey it’s growing. Beats baldy anytime. Take care out there. Keep well, at least for Christmas! X

It just suddenly started and wouldn’t stop! I would love to have seen how long it would have got if I hadn’t started maintenance meds. Never mind. Grateful not to be bald!

I think we all wish for our hair to grown back as quickly as it came out but there is a lot our bodies need to deal with. I am 7 months after chemo (Avastin ongoing and Lynparza) and it is slower than I expected. Initial spurt but very slow after that. BUT, when I see people whom I haven't seen for a while, they notice the growth. Leg hair is minimal, under arm hair minimal. pubes all back in full glory, eyelashes not so great - sparse and short but oncologist says I must be patient and eyebrows nowhere near what it used to be - again - oncologist says -be patient.

I've been using Maybelline Tattoo Brow - it's a gel you paint on over/ in the shape of your eyebrows and it stains/dyes any brow hairs you do have, as well as the skin underneath. It comes in 5 or 6 colours and takes around 20 mins, during which time it dries, so you peel it off when you are done. I use the light brown which works really well with my pale skin tone and it's incredibly effective. Most people don't even notice - even my closest friends. Well worth a go if you don't fancy actual tattooed brows. My Onco won't even approve that, so he's going to have a fit when I tell him I'm going to have an actual tattoo...😂🤣

It will come back, don't worry. I'm on same track as you and not only fuzzy head came back, but also a very fuzzy face! Those fine face/eyebrow razors too care of that and luckily face hair stoped after one shave.
