Hi Polo. I hope you are as well as you can be and are coping with the niraparib. May I ask what the CA125 was when you were first diagnosed? Has the number trended down while you were on chemo? Has it increased since you’ve been on the parp inhibitor? Putting the CA125 in context may help with meaning responses from the ladies Best wishes from Louisiana,

Sashay

I may be mistaken, but I thought I had read a post of two by ladies on Niraparib who said their CA125 had initially risen on the parp, then settled down. Hope some of the ladies on this parp will respond soon. In the meantime, I am sending positive thoughts your way. Sashay

In my sister’s case it went up after 6 months when niraparib stopped working. Please get follow up scan done!

My CA125 was a fair bit higher than your current reading when I started Niraparib - initially, it rose every two weeks until I'd been on the drug I think for about 8 , maybe 10 weeks - by then, the fortnightly rise of about 30 points had slowed down, and after about 12 weeks, it started to fall. Are you having your bloods checked every two weeks, because, it can take a while for Niraparib to do anything - what they're interested in is the overall trend of your CA125, whether it just keeps rising ongoing or plateaus or starts to fall

They;ll tell you soon enough if they feel Niraparib is not working for you... I had to come off it in the end because it caused me to have very high blood pressure and fast heart rate which did not respond to other meds. They lowered the Niraparib dose to help with that problem, but unfortunately, the lower dose just wasn't doing the job of keeping the cancer in check.
