Internal scar tissue perhaps?

Hi all,

I had debulking surgery back in July (including resectioning of paracardiac and paraortic lymph nodes) and every so often if I yawn or something I get a pain right hand side of my ribs, might this be internal scar tissue? Has anyone else experienced this please?

I have primary peritoneal cancer in oomentum, peritoneum with lymphadenopathy of pelvic, retroperitindal lymph nodes and one paraaortic node. I've not had surgery yet. My symptoms started with pain below the ribs on right side on yawning, laughing and deep inspiration. But my pain has always been on every single yawn etc and not now and again. It is getting better with chemo tho, yay.

Please try not to worry but just get checked out. I'm guessing it could easily be scar tissue. Are they doing regular follow ups with you? Try doing visualisation of cleaning up that scar tissue.

Hello, yes I had a variety of pains following debulking, nothing untoward, just deep healing. We forget how radical the operation is, I literally felt my innards were reorganising themselves for months afterwards. Surgeons don’t recognise these things because they have never experienced them xx

Hi , I had radical debulking surgery October 2020 and the scar tissue does give you pains in various places. I also had pain in the same place as you and mentioned it to my surgeon . He said he had anchored my liver there.!! ( they had to move my organs around to remove as much tumour as possible) But I also have an ileostomy . Suggest you ask your surgeon why that happens when you yawn. Good luckWith your recovery . 🥰

Hi thereYes I have same pains in my ribs even after nearly 8 month after debulking surgery ! )) And my nurses and doctors usually saying it must be scars because there was so much disturbance and some stitching . They said it will ease on chemo but it was't really during 5 month on chemo. Yes it was some kind of distraction from it because chemo brings other problems yr mind start focusing on. But now on Niraparib for nearly a month I still got this pains mostly on right side and left side as well and not only when yawning or sneezing / They also saying i got some fluid there presumably post op fluid.....
