Sounds like the chemo is actually doing the job her CA125 is coming down. The scan tomorrow will hopefully give a clearer picture. Stay strong for your dear Mum sending love to you both and hoping for good results for her. SheilaFxxx

Hi, certainly sounds like the chemo is doing it’s job. I was diagnosed 3b in 2007 and despite 2 recurrences I am still here with current remission of 8 years this month albeit on a Parp inhibitor. I know from experience how frightening and scary it is watching yr mum going thru treatment but she is receiving the best care. Big hug to you both. Kathy xx

H Katmal. That’s lovely to hear of your remission of 8 years. Is that 8 years on a PARP inhibitor and if so, which one please? I am on PARP but have to come off it after 2 years which will be very scary.

I do have side effects but over times these have reduced. I have been on 600mg per day since Jan 2014. I follow the trial protocol so have bloods done every 12 weeks and scans every 24. Kathy xx

Katmal-UK profile image
Katmal-UK in reply toInguc_is

It’s below 3 . on recurrence it was 65. mine has never been high but it is a good indicator for me. At diagnosis it was only about 365 and I am stage 3b.

It looks like the chemotherapy is working, hopefully the ct scan will show a reduction. Maybe when she has finished treatment she can go on a PARP inhibitor, you could ask her Oncologist.

As far as the haemoglobin is concerned they will intervene when it’s too low.

I understand it’s all scary I found it harder to deal with when my mother had cancer than me having cancer. But the treatments get better all the time. Sending you a big hug 🤗 Mish xx
