Thankyou to all who answered my post. Its really given me alot to think about so I will take a bit of time and look more into things. I think that I kind of want everything taken care of NOW, but have realised that these things take time. After all, The time since diagnosis has flown by. Ive been on olaparib for one year now and feel really grotty all of the time, constant nausea, banging headaches and extreme tiredness. I am so fed up of feeling crap all of the time, it really helps to vent. Regards to all and thanks again, Deb

Bless you Deb. I see you’re the same age as me. I was diagnosed stage 3 Epithelial High Grade serous Feb 2018 ( age 51) & still here!

Been on Niraparib since July 2020 &, at times, the side effects make me feel pants. I’m BRCA negative.

Not one of us is going through exactly the same but there are many similarities

Try to take one day at a time ( easier said than done I know).

You’ve got this!

Thanks , I wonder why I have only been a viewer on this site for so long. I'm going onwards and upwards from now on. With good advice behind me, I'm sure I can get what I need. Thanks so much, Regards, Deb

Hi Deb

Have they lowered the dose of Olaparib for you? I started it a month ago with very few side effects but I know that if I had ongoing problems I would be banging on the oncologist’s door to get them sorted out. As you so rightly say, constantly feeling under the weather is depressing. I take Lansoprasol to protect my stomach.. I wonder if this has helped me get away with minimal effects. xx

Hi Lyndy, I am already on the lowest dose. My onc said I couldn,t go any lower and might have to come off them. Im not very good at asking the questions that I need to, so I can see that I need to be more forceful, if you like, and get the answers that I need. Regards, Deb

I can relate. When I’d look in the mirror and see a fat, bald chick, I had to keep telling myself, “this is time limited, I will feel well again”. And it happened. Patience is the key.

For what it’s worth my oncologist prescribed Ritalin to help with fatigue on Olaparib. It’s helped quite a bit. Not sure if you have it in the UK. It’s used for ADHD in children. I was desperate with the fatigue, unable to accomplish anything. It’s worth a conversation.
