Saw my oncologist yesterday, he agreed that 1200mg of Rucaparib is too much for me to tolerate, I had no quality of life, so he's reduced the dose ,so fingers crossed. My Ca125 had gone up from 14 to 19 ,he wasn't concerned ,I am ,but I had my second vaccine two days before my blood test, so that may have caused the rise.

Hi Cheryl,

I’m so glad you are on a smaller dose that is more tolerable. I do think the vaccine has an effect because I had Covid this time last year and my CA 125 went from my normal 18 up to 37. As the Covid receded, I gradually returned to 17!

I was convinced at the time it was a recurrence, bit it wasn’t.

Therefore, I think the vaccine ( which can cause affect our lymph nodes, is the culprit! )

Pleased to hear that you are going on a reduced dose of rucaparib, which I hope suits you better. I am on 1000mg a day now and seem to be fine. I dropped to 600 mg a day and have gradually worked my way up, Anyway fingers crossed you will be ok.

A dose reduction sounds like a good plan. I’ve never been on a full dose of Olaparib but it still worked well. I also still had and have fatigue but it’s manageable. It might be one or two days a week now. I hope you do well on the lower dose.

I am pleased for you, hopefully the lower dose will be much more manageable. I do wish they would have more compassion when we have endured chemo to knock us out again with these treatments only to admit later that the dose is too high. Grrrr!

Hi Cheryl. I hope you feel better on the lower dose. Our quality of life is so important and if treatment options can be tweaked it can make a big difference. Good luck. The other Cheryl.x

Hi Cheryl, I can’t speak about the dosage as I’m not on parp, but my ca125 went up 30 after vaccine and is now back down.

Hi Cheryl, I am on niraparib and they reduced my dose also. I feel better, but once in awhile; they take me off from it for about a week to build up my blood again. Good luck on your lower dose. Donna xx
