Hi Lyn thanks for your reply how are you doing on chemo ? I did read somewhere that if one doesn’t work another may but haven’t found anybody that has tried two as yet best wishes Ali x
Hi if you send me your email I will send it to you, glad your chemo is going ok.
I have yet to start on Rucaparib but this is scheduled for this spring. I would also like an answer to your question. I have been told that Rucaparib is better tolerated than the others but it seems that many get on with the other two as well. They can’t be identical can they? So I wonder if we should be campaigning for more than one bite at the cherry? My oncologist refers to it as his ‘magic pills’! x
It’s hard to find people that have tried more than one, I research all the time for my mum and I did find this article not in this country but the same named inhibitors and it did state that if one doesn’t work its doesn’t necessarily mean that another won’t work and yes your right they wouldn’t be the same, also another article said that if the same one was introduced again it can sometimes work again. Good luck for when you go on yours.

Hi Aliolle, could you send me the links to the info online you’ve found please? I’m BRCA neg and had Olaparib as part of a trial with durvalumab (Mediola trial).
Stopped working for me after 9 months but I’m looking to possibly try another PARP in the coming months.
Currently on Paclitaxel for 1 year now as part of another trial and want to look at maintenance options.
I’ll let you know how I get on, love to you and your mum x
Hi Ali sorry I have no experience with the parp inhibitors as I have cervical cancer but I have used Oncologica in Cambridge and would recommend they were able to pinpoint exactly what treatments would work with my specific cancer which turned out to be very high in Pd-L1 and this enabled me to get on a trial and after been given 3-6 months I am still here just over 2 years later and feeling great. .
I rather think that this comes down to funding, much the same as the way that Avastin is only offered once.If you are having success with a particular parp, but have severe side effects, it is often possible to switch parps, but if a parp doesn't work, alternative treatment is offered.
