Sorry to hear that. I had borderline tumours in both ovaries and the omentum, all removed during surgery. That was 8 years ago and I'm fine so far. I'm not sure what invasive implants are, so don't know if this is of any help. Try ringing the Ovacome website. They are most helpful

Hi Wendy, thanks for your post. Borderline tumours dont normally spread but Carly's have and that's why they opted for a full hysterectomy and she's now undergoing chemotherapy in view of the nature of her spread but there is no assurance that they chemo will work because borderline spread only acts like cancer but cannot clinically be defined as cancer so the chemo may not help. it's all very confusing!x

I do hope things go well for Carly. Do ring Ruth on the Ovacome helpline. She has loads of experience of helping women with ovca and is also a lovely lady!

Pam, I'm so sorry to hear what you and your daughter are going through. I have borderline ovarian tumours which have just been removed (my ovaries and omentum were removed). I am 33. Like your daughter I have implants too, but I think mine are not invasive as I don't need chemo. I know that's a different situation from your daughter, but in general I'm finding using the Ovacome website really helpful and especially the 'Inner Circle' blog section which I can use to share info with my friends and family and keep my workmates up to date with while I'm off sick. Sometimes I don't feel able to talk to people but the circle lets me keep in touch, I don't know if Carly would find it helpful too. Sorry I can't offer any medical info, I hope the Ovacome nurses helped.

Hi Catherine, thank you for your comments. I have spoken to one of the nurses and she has put me in touch with a lady in France who has the same condition as my daugher so I am hoping this will help as everyone knows when you talk to someone with the same condition it does help simply because you can understand and support one another. once again thank you for your comments x
