Hi. I have had two Carbo/Caelyx infusions, and along with some expected side effects I have developed a lot of irritation at the entrance of my vagina. Sometimes it is a bit itchy and at others a bit sore. Has anyone else experienced this, or do you think perhaps it has nothing to do with the chemo?

I get that itchy vagina and it itches even up into my pubic hair! but not during chemo. Doc gives me creams or antibiotics. But always see your doctor with any itching in the vaginal area.

Hi. I’m just guessing that since caelyx gives you dry skin and sometimes rashes it could be the problem. You could try moisturizer but do check with go or cns.

Hi. I’d probably check with my gp/practice nurse, as it could be thrush, which would be easy to treat (have read that yeasts can take advantage of reduced immunity). Hope you can get rid of it soon - the last thing you need when recovering.

Best of luck
