Ongoing nausea and vomiting

I could use a little feedback. It's been 7 weeks since I took myself off all chemotherapy and since then I'm still dealing with nausea and vomiting. It's everyday. Yes, I have anti-nausea meds that I take. I'm more concerned with why I am still dealing with nausea. I'm throwing up breakfast at 10 at night 12 hours after I've eaten it. So I'm not sure why I'm struggling to digest food either. Anybody have any input? I'm thinking of setting up an appointment with a gastroenterologist head but it would be nice to have people who are dealing with cancer to have an input.

Hello Natsmb

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing nausea and vomiting. As these symptoms are persisting despite the medication that you've been given, it's important to seek medical advice to find out the cause and how it can be managed.

I would recommend getting in touch with your team today, or if this isn't possible contacting your GP. If you need urgent medical advice, you can call NHS 111.

I hope that you can find out the cause of your nausea and vomiting soon and get some help to treat it. If there's anything that we can help with or if you'd like to talk anything through, please get in touch with our Support Service.

Best wishes

Julia (Ovacome Support Services Officer)

Hi Julia - the poster lives in the US so I don’t think ringing NHS 111 is probably appropriate.

Hi! Have you considered what you are going thru may be some of the longer side effects from Covid? Some odd stuff is cropping up after folks get over the virus. Then these other problems crop up. Just a thought.

I've considered that.

Hi. From what I know this isn’t normal and as others have said you need to call your doctor or go to the ER. It might be a partial bowel obstruction. Please get medical and or palliative help! Sending positive vibes. Xx

I don't consider it normal either and I have brought it up to several of my doctors, my GP, my oncologist, the doctors at the hospital during the time I was dealing with covid. But they just throw nausea meds at it. I'm definitely going to go see a gastroenterologist.
