Hi I trialled Avastin in 2007/08 and found it easy to lose weight. Now I'm on Olaparib and it's the total opposite......

Mine didn't and I found it easy to lose weight when I wanted to. I was in remission for nearly 4.5 years and it's probably only following the 2 recurrences /chemo/trial drugs (one I have now been on for 6.5 years) that the weight has come back on and then some!

Thanks darling 💐

Hi there. I've just finished avastin, after nearly 6 years. My weight remained steady for the whole time. It was a wonder drug for me. Very few side effects. I hope it's as good for you. Best wishes. Pauline.

Hi Pauline I have to have Avastin infusion 1 year.Did you have a 6 years ? Way that’s long can you please tell me. I think it’s good for me for now.Best wishes.Emma.

Hi Emma. I was lucky enough to get onto an indefinite Avastin trial. That meant that as long as the side effects were manageable and the disease didn't progress, then I could stay on the drug. I had 3-weekly infusions. I have a port which makes it all so much easier. The OC managed to come back after 5.5 years. I think the reason may have been that I tripped on a footpath while visiting our daughter & family where they live in NYC, smashed 6 front teeth, then the long-haul flight back to Australia, caused my blood pressure to sky-rocket and I had to come off Avastin for 7 weeks. That was perhaps a big enough window for the OC to return. Best wishes. Pauline.

Hi again Emma. We have another grandson, Ollie - 20 months - but he is in New York, so I have to be happy with photos & SKYPE. Jasper is here, near where we live, so I can see him often. Keep up the good work. Best wishes. Pauline xx
